# Rehab Marketing Compliance Review: A Checklist for Regen-Adjacent Clinics

A rehab marketing compliance review is a planned check of each page your clinic puts out. Add rehab and recovery to a regen practice. Now you carry two rule sets at once. Here is a checklist you can run in house.

**TLDR:** A rehab marketing compliance review covers each page and ad you own. Captions and review replies too. You score them against Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules. Then against Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules and ad policy. Most clinics fail on old service pages and stale social posts. Run it each quarter. The list below is the one I use.

**Important Note**

This article is for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, medical, or regulatory advice. Marketing strategies discussed should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before implementation, particularly regarding FDA, FTC, and state-specific advertising regulations. Regen Portal is a marketing company, not a law firm or compliance consultancy. Nothing here implies FDA approval of any product or any use. The one exception is the narrow cord blood hematopoietic progenitor cell indication the FDA has actually licensed. Nothing here promises a marketing or business outcome. Regulations change and enforcement varies by state. Confirm current requirements with qualified legal and compliance counsel before you act on anything you read here.

Here is a pattern I have watched for 15 years. A clinic adds rehab and recovery to a regen practice. New pages get written by a new person. Nobody reads the old ones next to them.

Then something breaks. An ad account gets pulled. Staff scramble to find each place a phrase shows up. You will leave with a list, an owner, and a date.

## Why Rehab-Adjacent Marketing Carries Real Risk

Rehab clinic compliance gets hard fast. The reason: regen services share the site. Rehab copy is low risk on its own. Put it next to stem cell, exosome, or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) pages. Now it carries their risk.

The FDA and the FTC read your marketing as one message. So does Google. One recovery page can taint the whole site.

Three facts drive most of the trouble. No exosome product is FDA approved for human use. [The FDA consumer alert](https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/consumers-biologics/consumer-alert-regenerative-medicine-products-including-stem-cells-and-exosomes) says so. Licensed stem cell products are cord blood products for blood disorders. Nothing else is licensed. PRP kits hold a 510(k) clearance. That is the FDA path for devices much like ones already sold.

That clearance covers PRP mixed with bone graft material. Knee, face, and hair uses are off-label. Say so in your copy. Our [PRP marketing rules by channel](https://regenportal.com/prp-marketing-compliance-complete-rules-for-2026/) cover each platform.

State law adds a layer. Some states set their own ad rules. They do not match. Start with our list of [the states with their own stem cell ad rules](https://regenportal.com/states-passed-stem-cell-marketing-laws-in-2026/). Then check with counsel. Now the checklist.

## The Rehab Marketing Compliance Review Checklist

The list has two halves. First the assets, meaning each thing you post. Then the words inside.

Start with the asset list. Most clinics turn up pages they forgot. An old landing page. A dead ad group.

Asset What to Check Who Signs Off

Service and landing pages Claims, off-label labels, calls to action Clinical lead

Search and social ads Policy fit, landing page match Marketing owner

Social posts and video Outcome words, patient images, consent Marketing owner

Reviews and replies Privacy, incentives, disclosure Practice manager

**What this means for your practice:** The asset list is the prize. Build it once and each pass gets faster.

Now the words. Health claims need support before you post them. The FTC is blunt about what counts as support. Its [health claims guidance](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/advertising-marketing/health-claims) spells it out. The table below is a marketing compliance checklist in short form.

Do Not Say Say Instead Why It Fails

“Cures chronic knee pain” Describe the procedure Turns the product into a drug

“FDA approved stem cell therapy” State the real status No such approval exists

“Proven to rebuild cartilage” Call the research early Proof claims need support

“Better than surgery” Drop the comparison Needs head-to-head evidence

“100% safe, zero downtime” Note the risks Absolute safety claims fail

**Why this matters:** These five lines cover most of what I find on a first pass. Strike them from headings. Meta titles and alt text.

Fixing words is half the job. The rest is who runs this, and when.

## How to Run the Review and Who Owns It

Give the job to one owner. Usually that is the marketing lead. A licensed clinician signs off on claim language. Two people. One pass. One log.

- Pull the list: pages, ads, posts, email, print, and review replies.
- Score each one pass, fix, or pull. No maybes.
- Fix each failure at the source. Not just where you found it.
- Check each ad account against Google’s [healthcare and medicines policy](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/176031).
- Log the date, the owner, and each change in one file.

Once the list exists, the pass takes an afternoon. Reviews and testimonials carry their own rules. Our take on [the FTC endorsement rules](https://regenportal.com/ftc-2026-ai-endorsement-rules-and-what-they-mean/) covers disclosure. Regen adjacent marketing moves fast, so the log beats memory. Here is what clinics ask most.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What Should a Rehab Marketing Compliance Review Checklist Include?

Five parts. An asset list. A claim check. An ad policy check. A privacy check. A sign-off log. The FTC [health products compliance guidance](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/health-products-compliance-guidance) sets the bar for claim support.

### How Often Should a Compliance Review Be Performed?

Each quarter if you post often. Twice a year if you do not. Add a pass after a rebrand. State rules also shift mid-year.

### What Are the Most Commonly Missed Compliance Issues in Rehab-Adjacent Marketing?

Old service pages, social posts, and review replies. Those are the assets no one owns. Patient photos with no written consent come next. HIPAA, the federal privacy law, covers marketing too.

### Who Internally Should Own the Compliance Review Process?

One marketing owner runs it. One clinician signs off on claim language. Split it three ways and items get dropped.

## Key Takeaways

- Rehab pages take on the risk of the regen pages beside them.
- The asset list is the payoff. It speeds up each later pass.
- Strike cure claims, approval claims, and absolute safety words.
- One marketing owner, one clinical sign-off, one log, each quarter.

## Ready to Grow?

Compliance is not a file you save once. It is a habit. It is why some cash-pay clinics keep their ad accounts. That is the work behind [our compliance program for clinics](https://regenportal.com/marketing-compliance/). It is informed by 15+ years of regenerative medicine industry experience.
